Mr thomas
1) What are MR Thomas hobbies?
He likes to play all kind of games,both indoor and outdoor.He used to be a PE teacher. He loves to play soccer,sepak tekraw,badminton and swimming.
2) What does he normally do during weekends?
During Saturday morning, he usually stay in school till noon .Then he will go home and have lunch with his family.About 5pm,he will go to the church for his prayers and in the night, he go out for dinner with his family.During Sunday, he will bring his sons to the church for their prayers till lunch time. After that,he will bring his family to his mother-in-law house for dinner .He will try to keep his weekends free for his family.
3) What is his defination of a hero?
He feels that a hero does not necessary means intelligent,smart or famous, as long as whatever you does mean good to people and have a positive impact to the people around you , you are consider a hero.
4) Will he consider himself to be a hero?
Yes,he consider himself a hero to his sons as they see him as someone that can help them in many ways;studies,character building etc.He hopes to be a hero to all students and also hopes to project a good image and good discipline to the students.He felt that he had set a good example in role modeling and he used to provide tuition to people.He had help in the commitee by serving as a member that organise activities for people living in the community.He once saved a girl from drowning.She was swept away in Bukit Batok and he found her in Clementi.
He came from a poor family where he used to live in a 1-room flat with his 4 siblings and parents.He lived on free textbooks and donations.He felt that it is his duty to giv back to people that had helped him.He thank his parents for bringing him up and it translate a blessing to him when he see his parents happy.He had provided security for the ASEAN members for 2 weeks.He felt that all people is a hero in their ownself.
5) What will he do if he was neither a police officer nor a vice-principle in JVS?
He will loves to be a pilot as he loves flying but he was being put in the police force.His ambition was to be a pilot or a Singapore Armed Forces(SAF) commando.He thought he would be the NO.1 pilot or commando, so he went for test and he passed almost all of them but in the eand, he was being put in the police force.
Then his wife came into the picture and she was a teacher.She asked him whether he wants to be one.His mother and wife influenced him to be in the teaching profession.Till now, he still loves his job as he gets to mix with the teenagers and having a good impact to them.
6)Who is his hero?
He had 3 heroes.One was our minister mentor,Lee Kuan Yew.He felt that he is one man in times of difficulty,but stood out as an outstanding man.He also felt that he is a well-respected man and a visionability leader who had good values;integrity,discipline and he can be followed.
Another hero of his was a police officer who had passed away.He was Mr Thomas immediate superviser in the police force.He helped him a lot and was kind to him.He helped him to received an award as being a outstanding officer in Jurong Station.
His last hero was his father.His father study very hard and qualify for SJR,and went on to work.But he left his studies when Mr Thomas grandmother passed away.His father then take jobs to provide the family.His job was a labourer and a secuirity guard.Because of what he did, his siblings and sons respected him.
7)Things that were interesting about him.
He actually wan a non-swimmer in the army.During an activity, which was mainly crossing the river in the night, all of the others wore a blue lighted torch helmet,which indicates that they could swim.But Mr Thomas wore a red lighted helmet, which indicates that he couldn't swim.But he overcame his problems and eventually got a life guard certificate.He loves to help people and always feel indebted to people that had helped him before so he was always wliing to help people that were in troubles.
